Finally got around to play some radio this year. First QSO in 2012 was HK0NA on 12M CW January 26st. That was a new one on CW for me followed by 4W0VB on 30M CW. Yet another new one on CW. They don't come by too often these days with 323 on CW. Two days later on January 28th, I worked VP6T on 40M CW for a new one on 40M. I also managed to work HK0NA on 40M/30M/20M/17M/15M CW, 10M SSB and 40M RTTY. PS5F was worked on 10M CW from SA-088 on Saturday, February 4th. That was a new IOTA for me.

Early this year I finally reached one of my goals of 300 LoTW only confirmations. #299 was with E51MAN from North Cook, and came in late December. A few days ago in January, #300 was finally confirmed with OA1F.

As postage has yet again risen here in Norway, direct qsling is almost way too expensive to continue. I do answer the cards I get and I do send a few of my own, but nothing like I used to several years back. I do have several thousands of cards in boxes in the closet, both for LA8AJA and JW8AJA. Rarely do I ever take them out and look at them, and I don't think I've bothered showing them to any of my friends the last 5 years or so. I have never applied for any award. As more and more people join Logbook of The World, I just hope more awards will be added to make it even more popular. Time will tell.

My next posts will show LoTW stats for both my calls.

After I requested my ST0R card via OQRS, my contacts were uploaded to LoTW and gave me #296 on LoTW. The card came in the mail a few days later.

I have worked a little dx since my last report.

October 23rd I worked TX7M on 30M CW and JW7XM on 10M SSB. Harald was very strong here and had a very big pile-up.

October 28th I worked TX7M on 40M SSB. PJ5/SP6EQZ and 3XY1D was worked on 12M CW. TU2T was worked on 10M CW. 8R1EA was worked on 10M SSB. ZF2OE, PJ5/SP6IXF and PJ4J was worked on 12M RTTY. All three were new on RTTY.

During CQWW SSB I listened a little on the bands. Conditions were the best in many many years. I didn't bother to work much in all the noise. Breaking pile-up's is very difficult with a vertical. I did however wake up in the middle of the night on October 30th. I checked the bands and 20M were very good. I had big signals from Hawaii and worked 4 stations. I worked 2 stations from Alaska. I also Worked C5A, E51Z, TX5A and JW5E. All had quite good signals. I worked 3XY1D on 10M CW. I worked ST2AR and A92GR on 10M SSB for 2 new ones on 10M.

On November 6th I worked WY7LL in WY on 12M SSB. PJ7NK was worked on 17M RTTY for a new one on RTTY. SU9VB was worked on 30M CW. 7Q7GM was worked on 40M CW.

The conditions are really good for the time being, and I have worked a few contacts lately.

I worked OA4/DJ2VO on 30M on October 11th.

On the 14th I worked T32C on 15M CW.

On the 15th I got HC2/KF6ZWD and HR2DMR on 12M CW. HR2 was a new one on 12M. T32C was worked on 12M SSB and 17M CW. I tuned around 10M and found OA1F with a nice signal and worked him quickly. Further up in the band, HC6EP was calling and I gave him a call. It turned out that he was on LoTW and when I uploaded the log a few days later, I got #295 on LoTW.

October 18th gave me 3 new T32C slots with 17M RTTY, 20M SSB and 20M CW.

Early morning October 19th, I worked VE7SV with a nice and strong signal on 30M CW. He had a pile-up from Europe, but was easily worked. T32C was worked on 10M CW.

E51NOU was worked on 12M CW October 20th. I tried calling him the day before, but I couldn't break the pile-up. 3XY1D was worked on 30M CW.

On October 21st I worked T32C on 30M RTTY and 17M SSB. 4O3A was worked on 12M cw for a new one on 12M.

I now have 13 slots with T32C. Way more than expected. They have been there so long that the pile-up's are small and pretty easy to crack.
