I am still here
Posted: July 2nd, 2024 under Hamradio.
I know I haven’t updated this page in a long time. I always have it in the back of my mind to do something about it, but then never actually get around to doing it. There are many reasons to why, and instead of coming up with a lot of boring excuses, I’ll just say that life is busy, and I mainly work radio during the summer when 6m season peaks.
I have taken up several other hobbies besides hamradio. I have been a licenced radio amateur for nearly 30 years, and motivation will go up and down, which is perfectly normal in my eyes.
Programming software has taken up more and more of my time the last few years. I have been contributing heavily to a hamradio logging software called Cloudlog. Early this year, we forked Cloudlog and made Wavelog. You can check it out at wavelog.org.
Another hobby that is also taking up a lot time, specially during the summer, is flying fpv (first person view) drones. It’s the closest you can come to fly yourself, or to fly like a bird. I am a member of a local drone club, and we met up every once in a while to fly and have fun. This has led to yet another hobby, which is 3d printing. When building drones, it’s nice to have a printer to make some parts for your frames.
I will try to update more on this page. The logsearch is updated, and my logs are always updated on LoTW (now that it is finally back, after many weeks of downtime).
