Dxpedition,
Hamradio,
Movie.
Another DXpedition video is on it’s way. These are the kind I like to see. I have seen plenty of them, and they always make me wanna go on another DXpedition myself. An OJ0LA video was produced after our last visit in 2006, but it is nothing compared to a dvd production like this. Other DXpedition dvd’s kan be ordered at K4UEE’s page.
Bob K4UEE and Ed W4ZSB will produce yet another exciting DXpedition video. In the tradition of previous video productions, the K5D Dxpedition video, entitled, "Desecheo—so near, yet so far" will be full of exciting footage of the helicopter trips, the island from the air, camp set up and takedown, pileups you won’t believe and of course an inside look into the logistics of a big DXpedition, interviews with key team members and of course, humor.
The video should be ready by September 2009 and will sell for $25.00. But by ordering now, you reserve an early copy of this collectors’ item at a discounted price of $22.00. As always, this includes shipping and handling.

On Wednesday evening I got VK9AA on 40M CW (#230 40M). He had a good signal. Listen to the soundclip below. On Thursday I worked D44TXO on 30M CW. On 40M CW I got 4K0CW (#231 40M) and D44TXS. Friday gave me HV5PUL (#242 30M) and 4J9M on 30M RTTY. 4U1UN came in the log late Friday evening on 40M RTTY (#232 40M, #182 RTTY). While listening around on 40M RTTY, D44TXF was on below 4U1UN and was easily worked. Saturday gave me 4K0CW on 20M (#269 20M) and 17M CW. A71EM was worked on 20M CW with a good signal. 4U1UN came in the log early Saturday morning on 40M CW.

I updated LoTW and got a new one with 4K0CW. That brings my total to #218 on LoTW. 6Y8XF was also confirmed. Thanks Axel and Nigel.
My online logsearch is also updated today.

DX,
Hamradio,
LoTW,
RTTY.
No radio to report about the last few weeks. I have worked nothing since late February. This weekend I had some time and conditions seemed to have picked up a bit. I just missed V63TO on 40M on Saturday morning. Suddenly 2 of them were on 30M CW. I couldn’t break the pile-up. Then V63PR popped up on RTTY and I worked him. Did struggle a bit since I had some qrm on frequency, but that was #180 on RTTY and #241 on 30M. A few minutes later I got through the pile for V63TO on 30M CW. On Saturday evening, 5Z4/DL8NBE was on 40M RTTY. I got him after a few calls for #181 on RTTY. Sunday morning Nigel G3TXF showed up on 30M as 6Y8XF. He was easily worked and had a nice and strong signal. On Tuesday morning conditions seemed fine, KH7XS was on 40M CW with a great signal. Didn’t bother to work him, as he is in my log. ZL1BVB and HR9/WQ7R was also strong this morning.
Soundclips:
LoTW is now up to #217. Latest new ones are VQ9RD, S21VJ and HV0A.

Hamradio,
LoTW.
Since I did the statistics for my LA8AJA call, I might as well do one for my JW8AJA log. That log does contain around 5000 qso’es from my 2 trips to JW in 2002 and 2006. Click the picture to see the LoTW DXCC stats.

Hamradio,
LoTW.
The idea behind this post came from our national amateurradio magazine. A member of LA2AB (clubstation) had checked out all their confirmations through LoTW and written up an article showing the confirmations through the years. I thought I would do the same.
Here are my stats, updated March 09 2009:
